the love of books, paper, colour and texture
My books and boxes are made employing traditional bookbinding techniques yet I do want to give my work its very own style and feel. To do so I hand crafting the wax paper I then use to cover the objects I make. Many layers of ink, dyes and wax ensure a rich and deep texture which at times is evocative of sea, sand and rock patterns surrounding me on the island I live.
This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.

This book is two books in one, back to back, which in itself is quite a novelty, but also has the added bonus of possible multiple function - the note book and diary in one for instance.
It is covered with a green wax paper made by myself which is not only attractive but also hard-wearing if used a lot.
It is of a lovely squarish format and of good size, plenty of page space to fill. The cartridge paper is 110gsm, acid free and perfect for taking ink, charcoal,chalk or pencil.
The book is hand-bound and answers to the high quality standards of traditional bookbinding.
When I make my wax paper, I iron out all the excess wax which leaves a lovely smooth texture and deep warm colours.
It is one of those books that may become a long lasting companion....
