Full description
The vintage image that I have used for the cover of this notebook is one of my favourite images of a beautiful woman. I have used natural linen fabric as the base layer for this notebook. I then selected and cut out a range of fabrics that included vintage lace, various scraps of silk, brocade, printed organza, cotton and more linen. All the fabric pieces were arranged onto the natural linen base and stitched using zig zag stitch. After all the stitching had been completed, I then hand stitched seven mother of pearl buttons, three guipure lace flowers, and several cream pearl beads. I also stitched some cream crochet lace trim.
I hand stitched the nine signatures together using natural hemp twine. On the back cover I hand stitched a white lace flower motif. The spine of this notebook has been left exposed because I think it is a nice feature. There are irregularities with this handmade notebook i.e. the cutting and folding of the paper is not perfectly flush.
This notebook would make an ideal Birthday or Christmas gift. It is lovely to look at, but it is also a very useful and practical notebook.
Measurements: Notebook is A6 size, 11cm (4.5ins) wide x 15.5cm (6ins) long. All sizes are approximate.
