Pretty embroidered daisies cluster round the flap of this soft and tactile, knitted and felted bag, worked in a self-patterning pure wool.
The body of the bag has been knitted in a pure wool yarn using needles in a smaller gauge than those recommended to produce a firm texture. A "pouch-shape" has been created by knitting darts into the bottom seem of the bag. The top edge is gently gathered in place by an adjustable cord, in the same yarn, which is tied in a bow. The strap is long enough to wear across the body and is formed from cord produced by working a crocheted chain of the yarn into a wider cord using a lucet. The bag, and all the cords, have been fulled or felted to produce a firmer texture. The bag closes with a lucet-produced cord over a vintage wooden toggle. The edge of the flap is decorated by hand-embroidered daisies in tapestry wools chosen form the shades of the bag.
The body of the bag is unlined. The inside of the flap is neatened with commercial flet on the reverse of the embroidery.
