Full description
This handmade journal was made from a 100% cotton fabric from Timeless Treasures with Paris landmarks, postcards, stamps, newspaper clips and maps on a background of Paris icons in sepia, beige and burgundy. I hand stitched the seven signatures together using natural hemp twine. The fabric has been glued to the grey boards. The spine has been left exposed because I think it is a nice feature. On the front of the journal I have made a short self fabric strap that is used as a fastening. It has a magnetic clasp inside and a decorative brown button on the outside.
There are irregularities with this handmade journal; the cutting and folding of the paper is not perfectly flush.
This handmade journal would make an ideal birthday gift, or Christmas present for someone who loves to travel, and enjoys writing and recording their travel notes. This journal could also hold their photos, postcards, and travel ephemera. It is a lovely, very useful and practical handmade journal.
Measurements: Journal is A5 size, 15cm (6ins) x 22cm (8.75ins) with 140gsm 100% recycled plain white paper, 60 pages. All sizes approximate.
