Gathered in the summer and pressed, the flowers were the first inspiration. I love the subtle colours and shades of calico, ochres and dyed cotton, like a sepia print. The gold frame sets the piece off, and it is a collection of subtle neutrals.

Full description
This picture has a beautiful brushed gold frame with a white inner frame. Using hand dyed fabrics, pure silk hand embroidered piece, and featuring real dried flowers it is evocative of a moment in time. A printed old postcard adds to the texture and feel of the picture and the words, " grasses pale and bleached in the sun faded and frayed' gives an impression of dreamy summer afternoons and bright sunshine. French knots are inspired by dried seed heads and a simple straight stitch suggests grasses.
It measures in total 11 inches x 12.5 inches.
