Full description
Made using the Japanese art of creating a woodgrain effect in metal work, Mokume Gane lends itself very well to polymer clay. Shades of lilac are layered, some with 24ct gold leaf between, and those layers are then distorted to create the effects you see here. Thin slices are taken and laid on a base sheet of clay, and this heart shape was cut out and shaped. In addition there is a matching handmade bead.
This pendant is hung on a Tibetan Silver bail, and an 18 inch silver plate figaro chain. The length of the pendant is approximately 3 inches.
