Full description
This handmade notebook was made from dark red silk dupion fabric. I have hand stitched a vintage doily on to the front and also stitched white vintage buttons into the centre of the doily. I added some embroidery and some cerise pearl beads.
I hand stitched the seven signatures together using red hemp twine and included two lengths of cerise satin ribbon on the spine. The fabric was glued to the grey boards and I also glued the two end papers to the board. The spine has been left exposed because I think it is a nice feature to this handmade notebook.
The unusual paper used for this notebook came from the Exotic Paper Co. Ltd and it is made from recycled consumer waste with the added ingredient of Rhino poo. Please note there are irregularities with this handmade notebook; the cutting and folding of the paper is not perfectly flush.
This notebook would make an ideal Birthday or Christmas gift! It is lovely to look at, but is also very useful and practical.
