Anastasia Orchid , is a unique hand sewn handbag, made from coiling & hand sewing a 30 meter length of cotton cord, or rope, to form the body of the handbag, supported with two round bamboo styled handles and a short rope shoulder strap.
The handbag is further enhanced with a looping decorative design which supports and enhances the handles and flows down to form the stem and stamen of the dark brown faux leather floral embellishment, the inner plastic filaments of the cotton pully rope have been left long, to fan out as the Orchid stamen.
This is a unique handmade handbag, in cream coloured 100% cotton rope, the rope structure is reinforced with central plastic filaments, so is a very sturdy item, keeping its shape but still allowing it to be flexible.
Fully my own design and creation & would be a perfect handbag for Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, or to take to a wedding.
The handbag is unlined as it really did not need to be, fully usable & durable as it stands. Little tabs have been made by folding the rope during the coiling process to secure the handles in place.
This handbag can be lightly sponged with care to clean, but I would suggest drying in standing position and shaping whilst damp to retain its shape.
Excluding the short shoulder strap, the handbag measures approx 26cms in height and 28cms in width & approx 7cms in depth. the drop of the handbag including the shoulder strap, is approx 43cms.
