Today brings us a different air. There is something about the early morning sunlight which looks the same but smells different. The landscape is beginning to go to ground.
The colours of the landscape have been particularly influential – autumnal walks with our beloved lurchers and Border collie always provide an opportunity to observe the landscape and reflect on the subtle yet daily changing of the seasons.
My tea cosy’s are individual up-cycled responses to the fabrics themselves; all of which have a history - I am fortunate enough to know where many of the fabrics have come from and where they have been stored for the past 40 years; I know how they were worn and sometimes on what occasion - with this knowledge seems to come the responsibility of being worthy of their use.
I hope you love them as much as I do.

Full description
These specially commissioned teacosy's are only available through Folksy - and will not be seen for sale anywhere else!
They have been constructed from two panels of pure wool tweed in vibrant shades of orange, mustard and burgundy. Each teacosy's lining will differ - with panels lined in a variety of genuine vintage fabrics in complementary colours and prints.
Current variations are a 1960's wool tartan in a fabulous mix of orange, camel, turquoise and cream; or a genuine 1970's / 1980's Liberty of London 'Cottage Garden' vibrant floral cotton - all cosy's have been lightly padded with a locally woven wool felt.
Panels are joined at the top and bottom, leaving a long slit for both spout and handle -perfect for all types of teapots; the panels are finished with a butter-soft pale yellow leather ribbon tie - and as part Folksy's exclusive Christmas Promotion, each cosy has been finished with two removable leather holly leaf tags.
These particular tea cosy's measure flat 30cm wide by roughly 22cm tall and are shown here on my favourite Denby 2 1/4 pint teapot but they will happily take a larger pot if required.
If you have a preference for a particular lining, please let me know with your order - all linings are dependent on the vintage fabrics available and once they are gone I will not be able to replace them - I will however be adding to the range on offer as I source more vintage fabrics, so please check back!
