I love buttercups, the way they shine yellow and follow the sun, the way they look like golden fairy cups and the way we are all tempted to hold them under our chin to see if we like butter. It wasn't until recently that I found out they can actually cause a nasty rash but I like a flower with a bit of attitude.

Full description
This dainty necklace depicts a Bulbous Buttercup. It is an original design hand embroidered on silk using fine continuous filament floss silk thread. It is mounted in a silver plated frame and hung on a 16" sterling silver chain. The pendant measures 18.5mm x 18.5mm.
The buttercup is one of the first flowers we learn to recognise as children. We all love to hold the flower under our friend's chin and ask if they like butter, of course if their chin glows yellow they do; this probably comes from the old belief that cows grazing in fields filled with buttercups would produce yellow butter (not true).
The sap of the buttercup can actually cause a rash and beggars were known to use them to blister their skin on purpose to arouse the sympathy of passers by.
Due to the unique nature of hand embroidery the pendant received may vary slightly from the image shown.
