This is an original five colour reduction lino cut print, one of an edition of 46 prints. A single linoblock was used to create this print, cutting a larger amount away before printing each colour. Crocodile tea time is the third in a series of jungle tea time prints which I'm working on. This print is signed, titled and editioned along the bottom in pencil. Just 32 of these prints were made, you may not receive the exact print used in the photos.

The tradition of linocut is a relief printing method in which pieces of lino are cut away using special carving tools to create a design. The lino block is then inked up using a roller, and printed onto paper either by hand or using a traditional printing press. It's an entirely manual process, so some slight differences in the prints are to be expected. Each of these prints is the result of carefully carving and printing a single lino block. Each new colour is only added after more of the block has been carved away and the previous ink layer has had several days to dry.
