Thickly felted from my own Jacob Sheep wool, the dark and light natural wool depicts horse’s head facing into the sea breeze with her mane streaming out behind.
After watching my piebald horses galloping about their field with the sea and sky in the background with the strong Orkney wind blowing manes and feathers and the sheep being scattered by the horses' antics.
These pieces are based on several sketches and movement drawings I did at the time using broad brushes and thick textured paper… capturing the strength and power of the horses and the strength and power within the environment...
