Full description

A simple butterfly shape, cut from black felt, has been lavishly embroidered, using patterns adapted from crewel work to make this bright and attractive textile brooch.

The butterfly has been embroidered, in crewel work stitches, using embroidery threads. The butterfly is edged in blanket stitch, stiffened by a layer of heavy interfacing and backed by another layer of felt. A brooch pin is securely stitched in place. Antennae have been formed from silk flower stamens.

Height (maximum excluding antennae): 4 cm approx

Width: 6 cm

Items of embroidered jewelry may not be entirely colourfast and care should be taken that jewellery items do not get wet in use in case colour should be transferred to items of clothing.
