Full description
I made this bracelet using two different types of paper. The smaller stars are made from paper printed with the Buddhist Heart Mantra. Each star is individually folded by me.
The Heart Mantra has been translated into English by the Dalai Lama:
"Go, go, go beyond, go thoroughly beyond, and establish yourself in enlightenment."
Paper is the traditional gift for a first wedding anniversary so this would make an ideal and unique present.
The focal star is made from handprinted chiyogami paper. It has a red background with patterns of bamboo.
I have alternated the stars with black faceted glass beads.
I have coated the stars with three layers of acrylic spray. They are splashproof but are not water resistant so are not suitable for wearing in the bath or swimming etc.
The bracelet is threaded on crystal elastic which is very strong and durable. There are no fiddly catches and the bracelet will fit most adult wrist sizes.
Unstretched it has an inside diameter of just over 7 inches.
All origami star items are presented in a handmade origami box.
