Dorset button making is a traditional British craft that has been practised for centuries, with the cottage industry reaching it's peak during the 18th and 19th centuries. Initially the buttons were made from a disc of the horn of Dorset Sheep. In modern times these handmade buttons are usually made using a curtain ring! I made the teal button on this business card holder using a brass curtain ring.

Teal Dorset Button Business Card Holder made from 100% wool (Fairtrade) Felt.
A simple but elegant business card holder that showcases a very traditional British craft. Dorset button making has been practised for centuries and there are many beautiful designs. I have made this teal button in the crosswheel style. The case is completely hand-stitched and fastens with a handmade beaded cord to match the button (simply wrap the cord around the case and then once around the button to fasten).
The case will easily fit around 25 business cards (it also makes a lovely credit card holder or gadget case).
The case measures 9.5 cm by 8 cm.
Cool handwash or spot clean only.
