This is a stained glass suncatcher made using the Tiffany copper foil technique.

It is a hot air ballon, bright blue with a band of red round the middle and at the bottom. The basket is golden textured to look as if it is woven and attached to the bottom of the balloon by twisted wire.

I've used some streaky blue glass and some prettily textured so it all has movement.
I designed this originally as a commission to look similar to one which flies in Staffordshire, at Shugborough.

I liked it so much I made another, this one, to sell here on Folksy.

This will make an absolutely lovely present especially for anyone who has had a balloon ride. Hanging in the window its colours catch the light and it would make a super ornament for any room.

Please note though that this is made of glass and is delicate and is an ornament not a toy.
The suncatcher hangs from a little chain which is securely attached to the top of the balloon.
This item is totally individual. I never make two pieces exactly the same, I always use slightly different colours and textures of glass.

It is approximately 5 inches tall .
I can make this in other colour combinations. If you prefer a different colour then please send me a note.
