Full description
For this project I chose to use a natural linen fabric as the base layer. I cut it out using a pre-drawn template, and then interfaced it. I selected and cut out a range of different fabrics including vintage lace, silk, brocade, printed organza and more linen. I chose the image which had been printed on linen, and then all the fabric pieces were arranged on to the natural linen base.
Each element was then machined stitched using zig zag stitch. After all the stitching had been completed, I then added some hand stitching and a few vintage buttons, sequins, a lace butterfly, and guipure lace flowers.
Once this had been completed, I bound the cover to the hardback book.
This A5 journal or notebook would make an excellent gift. It is something that someone could treasure for many years to come. It has been handcrafted to a high standard.
Measurements: The book is A5 portrait with 80 lined sheets of paper.
