Full description
A cloud of butterflies against the sky.
The background silk is a rich uniform dark blue (not shaded as it appears in some of the photos) with an intricate woven pattern (photo 4). The butterflies are detailed in silver and there are swathes of gold and silver stardust across the sky.
The silk comes from a vintage Japanese kimono and is hung in scroll fashion between wooden rods with turned wood finials. It is completed with a blue and silver kumihimo cord for hanging.
The overall size is 27 x 16.5 (68 x 42 cms) and the fabric area is 22 x 12.5 (56 x 32 cms)
