Stained Glass Boat Mobile in orange and yellow sunshine colours
Description
Made entirely from recycled stained glass this lovely nautical boat mobile will look fabulous spinning and bobbing in the breeze. Each piece of glass is different and there is a great contrast between the different textures and colours of the glass.
Made using the copper foil (Tiffany) technique, I piece together found pieces of waste stained glass into pleasing boat shapes, copper foil the edges and solder them together. Hung with driftwood, fishing line and beads and measuring approx 50 cm long
Inspiration
My boat mobiles are extremely popular in galleries around the country from the Scottish Highlands to Devon! I start with my large collection of waste scraps of stained glass. I piece the glass together into boat shapes, copper foil the edges, solder them together and then I decide which boats look best together and string them together with beads and driftwood.
