I have collected lots of antique linen with pretty hand embroidery on it and used the embroidered pieces to create a patchwork, joined with a herringbone stitch on to a backing fabric. I have used a vintage piece of pure linen for the back of the cushion in a lovely subtle pale peachy pink. I think they look really effective and will start collecting more pieces for other projects like this.
