I love making things to embellish plain items and textured fabrics are some of my favourites as they are so versatile.This piece is made from some of my fine handspun luxury fiber yarn which has been handwoven then felted. It is incomparable with commercially made fabrics taking a considerable amount of time to produce and is a real example of handmade from fleece to fabric
In the current economic climate when we are all tightening our belts is a great economic way to add a touch of unique handspun yarn to an outfit or household item.Take a plain bag,sweater,jacket, hat or anything else you can think of and stitch this applique to it....hey presto a unique designer item in minutes!
Just great for saving an outfit with a tear or mark you can't get out too.....I saved a friends new top that got a curry stain on the left breast by adding a unique pocket, which is how these unique pockets were born and now she has somewhere to pop a folded hanky too :D
Your favourite sweater seen better days and is thinning at the elbow? There's no better way to repair the elbows and create a designer look at the same time!
As this fabric is tighly felted it can also be cut into smaller pieces for those of you wishing to add some to your fiber art and mixed media projects.
