The first cushion that I made like this was for my niece who lives in Melbourne, Australia. I was racking my brains trying to thin of something for her birthday that would be light to post. As my brother and his wife had recently moved house and I knew that my niece had had a new butterfly inspired bedroom, I thought a super soft fleece cushion with butterflies would complement her room perfectly. I used multi-colour butterflies so that as the room evolves and changes colour her cushion would still fit it.
