The roots of my creativity are firmly based in collage. You only have to look at my website to see that a considerable number of my artworks are simple collages:

So I didn’t find it a difficult move when I moved from creating artworks to crafting with textiles.

This note book cover has been made using Pelmet Vilene as its base. Using the pre-drawn template I gathered together a selection of different fabrics and arranged them on the Pelmet Vilene. When I was happy with the arrangement I stitched all round them using a zigzag stitch and running stitch. I stitched some beautiful lace at the top, bottom and along the spine. Then finally, I hand stitched a row of white sequins, four heart buttons and one pink guipure lace flower to the front to complete the look.

This is a book to treasure for years to come and is also very practical, ideal for making notes, shopping lists etc.etc.
