After researching current interior trends for 2012, I created a moodboard entitled 'Future Gothic', inspired by an article in 'Living Etc' magazine. The predicted trend indicated rich dark burgundys, reds contrasted with rusty burnt oranges. The 'Future Gothic' notebook was inspired by the moodboard.

A6 covered notebook.
The feature circles are created by free-machine embroidery onto vanishing muslin, a fabric that dissolves hence only the stitching remains. Shades of red and burgundy have been randomly combined with a sparkly metallic red thread. These are topped with handmade felt (using the wet-felting method) in rusty orange tones, with further free-machine embroidery in a gold metallic thread. To finish the circles are embellished with a sprinkling of red, gold and bronze seed beads.
Inner: A6 narrow ruled hardback notebook, 140 pages, 70gsm.
Outer: Base fabric is 100% cotton..
