Old boats are one of Shoogly's favourite subjects for photographing. The Thistle has an amazing history which adds pathos to the subject. Happily she will not fade away as she is returning to Norway to be looked after.

Full description

These postcards feature an original art work by Pat Cruse of Shoogly Beads.

This is a set of 2 'Thistle' pictures.....a favourite subject in all lights from all angles!

The 'Thistle' is a south Norwegian fishing boat that ended up in the North East of Scotland after being used by 4 Norwegians in an amazing escape from Norway during the 2nd World War.

After many years as a fishing boat the poor old Thistle ended up almost fading away at Johnshaven harbour. Recently she was gifted to the Norwegian people and will return to her homeland soon. A happy ending at last.

The original sketches are done in soft pastel on pastel drawing paper and are not for sale.

You can use these as a traditional postcards but we like to think you'll want to frame them! The postcards will be signed on the back by the artist.

Our postcards are professionally produced on 350gsm cardstock and have a gloss laminate finish.

Measures approx 15 x 10.5cms.

Designed by Mike & Pat Cruse
