I have always had a love of gemstones, and when this item was discovered lying on a beach, I just knew it could be polished and brought to a beautiful state, perfect for people like me, who love organic items.

This large polished Quartz paperweight, or decorative display item, was originally a rough stone found on the beach on holiday in Cyprus, and it has been polished to a high gloss, over various cycles and many, many hours, to create this very tactile decorative item.
Beautiful and natural, polshed opalescent white quartz, with clearer and more opaque areas, beautiful from every angle.
Roughly oval in shape measuring approx 8 to 9 cms by 6 to 7 cms at its widest points and approx 2 to 3cms in depth.
As this is a natural stone, there are occlusions and natural fissures within the quartz, some areas less polished than others, but this all adds to the natural beauty of the piece.
This is quite a weigty item, so will make a fantastic paperwieght or decorative desk ornament. Especially for those who love gemstones and organic items. Wonderfully cool to the touch.
In its natural unpolished state, this stone was a dull and chalky looking item, but when made wet, showed the promise of inner beauty. With various polishing cycles, it has come up to a high gloss finish, with fisures, inner facets and patches that show the unpolished state, but overall the item glows with the inner light that quartz is know and loved for.
