I've been making things out of polymer clay for over 22 years. I really enjoy making Klimt canes. a cane is basically a long sausage of clay. When you cut a slice, you will find fascinating patterns, depending on how you have made the cane. Klimt canes are based on patterns from the artist Gustav Klimt.

A lovely bookmark to hold your place in a favourite book.
The butterfly is made from polymer clay slices of one of my Klimt canes (a process of extruding clay to create the abstract pattern). The back of the butterfly is plain pink. It measures roughly 4.5cm/just over 1.5 inches at its widest point. There are also four marbled pink polymer clay beads and three small pink glass beads.
The charms are attached to a silver-plated hook which is approximately 8.5cm long (just under 3.5 inches). This hooks over the spine of the book to hold your place, while the charm hangs on the outside.
PLEASE NOTE - the butterfly shown in the pictures above has sold, but the one you order will be very similar.
The bookmark comes in an attractive organza bag and is carefully packaged, before being posted 1st class (via airmail if outside the UK). I try to reuse envelopes whenever possible.
PLEASE NOTE that polymer clay is not a toy and I do not recommend this item for young children due to small parts. Although polymer clay is perfectly suitable for its intended use, it is not indestructible!
