THIS FRAMED TEXTILE ART HAS BEEN REDUCED FROM £75.00 TO £50.00 plus P&P

Having decided on a design for the Pierrot, I gathered together the materials: a piece of bright orange linen was chosen to use for the background, a piece of black and gold cotton for the hat. For the face and neck, I chose a gorgeous satin jacquard with a floral motif. Other materials included: lace fabric for the ruffle, red felt for the lips, blue felt for the eyes and black velvet ribbon for the ruffle trim, and some gold braid for the edging on the hat.

After assembling and cutting out the materials, I machine stitched each of the fabrics.
Then I hand stitched all the sequins and stars to the face. The plain orange background needed something extra. A decorative machine stitch was chosen. I thought the resulting effect made the background more interesting.

I hope you like this textile piece of the woman Pierrot. I think it would adorn any home and be a pleasure to live with.

MEASUREMENTS: The frame is black, approximately 2cm wide all round. The white mount is approx 6cm all round and the Pierrot itself is approx. 38cm square. Altogether, the complete piece with frame and textile is approx 53cm square. The picture is ready for hanging with cord already attached on the reverse.

I remembered from my childhood, watching the circus on TV and laughing at the antics of the clowns that It would be nice to create a textile piece of a clown. However, I always thought the Pierrot was more dignified than the other clowns, more refined and I loved the way he used to mime. So this image stuck in my mind. May be it wasn’t a clown I wanted to portray, but a Pierrot. Most of my other collaged artworks have been images of women. So, then the thought came to me why not portray the Pierrot as a woman?
