Full description
Lovely pewter belt buckle handmade and cast in lead free pewter. It measures approximately 7.5cm (3in) across and is suitable for any standard 1.5in snap-belt (not included)
The design is based on a pictish stone carving in Meigle, Perthshire and has been used as a logo for the band New Model Army and the film company Legendary Pictures (Batman Begins, 300, Clash of the Titans, Inception etc).

How it's made
The original is carved out of a block of plaster using dental tools.
A complex 2-part silicone mould is made and the plaster original discarded,
Lead-free pewter is melted and poured into the mould.
Once cooled, the pewter is filed by hand and polished with fine wire wool.
A thin wash of diluted black oil paint is painted over the buckle and immediately wiped off leaving the wash only in the recesses to bring out the detail
The back plate is fixed to the reverse and the buckle is finished
