Full description
I've wanted to make something using negative space for some time now and with my current crush on geometric shapes I've created this range of embroideries called 'Animals are people too'.
This embroidery is of a squirrel surrounded by hundreds of tiny triangles that I have carefully handsewn, freehand, with black thread onto pure white muslin cloth.
I've framed the piece in a vintage wooden embroidery hoop and I've hand stitched a grey felt backing onto it. I've also signed and dated the piece.
The hoop measures just over 6"/13cm and I'll tie a piece of black velvet/satin ribbon to the tightening screw to allow easy hanging.
