Full description

I was actually told by Kirsten of Quernus crafts and in no uncertain terms, to make a snail, so - Snail is made from coffee dyed linen which has been sanded to give a ' I've been around the block a few times, albeit very slowly ' kind of look.His/her eyes are undyed linen with a black glass bead pupil, the antenna are rusty wire. The hat is made from pure wool coat fabric (a remnant) and is attached permanently to the shell). The shell part has been needle sculpted for definition. The legs ,which i decided every snail needs, are made from linen thread (vintage and Irish) wrapped around shaped wire and then stitched onto the body.

He/she is able to stand unaided but needs to be on a totally flat surface and can face the other way as both sides are identical.

Snail measures about 19 x 23cms.

The hand printed and coffee dyed tag says - ' If you can't get ahead, get a hat ' !

Snail is sold as a collectable and is not suitable for children.
