A beautiful handbound book which will make a delightful gift or a treat for yourself. Perfect for notes, journalling, sketching, doodling or all your creative ideas...
This A5 (approximately 15.5cm x 21.5cm / 6” x 8.5”) book has 7 signatures with 70 pages/140 sides in total. Most pages are 100% recycled white 80gsm paper. The inside covers and the ‘cover’ of each signature are a pastel yellow/peach colour. There are also several pages of co-ordinating coloured pages in a light mottled green, yellow and orange paper and thin card. The book’s covers are made from 1000 micron greyboard and covered in mulberry paper with an orange and yellow daisy design.
I have bound the book using Coptic stitching, which is an ancient stitching technique. This kind of stitching is not only decorative but also allows the book to lay completely flat; ideal for sketching. I’ve used orange thread to bind the book, which co-ordinates well with the cover. The book is held closed with an orange flower button that I’ve made from polymer clay. It can be tied closed with the orange ribbon.
Other features include a bookmark made with orange ribbon and a green daisy envelope attached to the inside front cover, so you can store any little bits and pieces that may inspire you to fill the rest of the book.
Your book will be attractively and carefully packaged before being posted 1st class (via airmail if outside the UK). I try to reuse envelopes wherever possible.
*I can also add a little bookplate (which will be brown dots on white paper) to the first page if you would like. Most of my handbound books also feature an altered photograph on the front, but I felt this design didn’t require one. If you would like me to add a photo or bookplate at no extra cost, please let me know when purchasing. Thanks.
