Full description
This journal is not a stock item, when you buy this book we will be making it especially for you, this takes time! Please see our shop homepage for our current dispatch dates.
~Description~
Bound in a single thick piece of vegetable tanned leather this journal has one of our hand tooled designs on the cover. The antiqued finish is applied by hand to pick out the design and the natural markings in the leather. This makes each book unique and the tone and grain of your journal may vary from the image shown. The covers are held closed by two cords finished with leather beads.
~Design~
The Tree of Life is a symbol that is found in most cultures throughout the world, from Ygdrassil of the Norsemen to the Kabbalistic Tree of Life. Trees have been of great spiritual importance throughout history, usually representing the link between heaven and earth. In this, our own Tree of Life design, the branches reach upward towards the light and heaven and open outwards to receive inspiration, their spiraling form represent spiritual growth. This is mirrored by the roots which spiral downward into the dark earth to receive nourishment. On the axis the horizontal line represents harmony and balance while the vertical represents the journey from the physical to the spiritual.
~Size & Binding~
32cm x 23cm x 3.5cm (12.5 x 9 x 1.5 inches)
250 pages (500 sides) of A4 sized, unlined, recycled, paper.
The pages in this book are hand bound using a strong waxed cord. No glue is used, so the spine of the book cannot be broken, our binding is strong and permanent.
~Paper~
We're proud to say that this award winning paper is 100% recycled from unbleached post-consumer waste, which saves water, energy and trees.
It is a natural, off-white, oatmeal colour with faint flecks. It has a matt appearance, is slightly textured and it takes a fountain pen without 'bleeding'.
It's of archival quality which means that it will last for hundreds of years. This is great if you're planning on leaving your words for future generations!
~Personalisation~
We can personalise this journal for you by hand carving initials into the leather on the back cover and this is totally free of charge for a maximum of five letters. Just let us know what initials you would like on ordering.
Maybe you would really like to personalise your journal by having your full name or even your own design on the cover. For prices please contact us and let us know what you would like.
