Lap quilts are handy to have in the home or car, ideal for babies and pets to play on, or to sit in the park or take to the beach.
This is a one of a kind design made from Jane Churchill's Still life fabric in a stunning red/blue colourway. The fabric features plates and bowls overflowing with fruit. The backing is a piece of recycled curtain lining , in a peachy pink chintz. The edge is bound in another complimentary remnant.
The front fabric is pieced in randomly placed rectangles with the information on the selvedge visible. It has been double stitched either side of the joining seam to enhance the simple lines of the sections.
The lining fabric came from a curtain relining job and is actually in good condition for its age (1980's). There is a small bit of fading along one edge and some of the original crease and stitchmarks are visible - shown in one of the photos - but other than that the fabric is in very good condition.
It has one layer of standard thickness quilt wadding and measures approc 1m 15 x 1m 15.
