This book is beautiful in its simplicity. It is an ideal blank canvas for people creating 'books as art'. it can also be used as a notebook or journal.

It is made from manilla A4 envelopes that arrived through my door as junk mail. Each envelope back has been cut by hand, ironed and pressed. There are a few creases visable but this gives it a 'rustic appeal'. All the pages are clean and there is no writing on them.

The slip case is made from salvaged thick 2mm board and covered inside and out with handmade banana fibre paper. The book fits very snugly in the slip case to offer protection.

BOOKCASE
the spine is exposed revealing the stitching. There is no hard cover.

BINDING
Butterfly stitch which enables the book to be laid flat. The book has a loose feel about it as there is no glue to re-inforce the book. I am confident that the binding will keep the book together. I have also used different colour threads to add interest to the exposed stitching.

With care, this book should last for years. I offer a free repair service which will last 3 years, in the unlikely event you should need it.
