'Something old
Something new
Something borrowed
Something new
A lucky sixpence in her shoe'
I was only recently that I heard of this other line in the verse which stems from the tradition of a father slipping a sixpence in his daughters shoe on her wedding day for wealth in her future marriage.
As I imagine it wouldn't be too comfortable to walk down the aisle with a coin in your shoe I created this little favour with a lot of inspiration from a 'Lucky Penny' pattern by another designer, Cwm Enfys.
Made from white #10 crochet thread, with 42 tiny pearly beads crocheted onto it with a genuine sixpence held between two layers.
At 1.5"/4cm in all directions excluding hanging loop, this little sixpence favour is just big enough to be hung on a bouquet.
Please note that this is a made to order item, please contact me to discuss your order
