Full description
I really enjoyed making this, and think it's pretty unique! The handmade cotton reel has been lightly painted and inked, to give a 'shabby chic' look. A variety of buttons (vintage, glazed chipboard, rubber stamped and shrink plastic) have been added to the top, in a scattered formation, along with some tiny butterflies and flowers. Around the top of the reel I have added some hand stained and stamped ribbon, which reads 'remember'. This trails down to the bottom of the reel to meet the faux cotton on the bottom of the reel (hemp twine).
I've also added some hand stamped sentiments, reading 'Capture the Moment', and a date ticket which, if you wish to, you can mark the date on. The finishing touches are a brass pin which is engraved with the word 'momento', and a tiny heart charm, and some more tiny flowers and buds at the bottom.
The 'I Love You' tag is made from canvas. Once you have placed your photo in the pin, you can either leave it in place just in front of your chosen photo, or remove it and add it elsewhere... the choice is yours!
The entire piece stands 12cm high, including the pin.
I think this would make a beautiful gift to a loved one, with, or without the addition of a photo from you!
