I've made this elegant drop pendant with an unusual green glass that is loaded with sparkle!
Made by melting and shaping glass directly in a superhot flame, I've made a simple drop shape with a flattened back (so it lies neatly) and a domed front. On the front are swirls of blue-green glass. The very light green glass has lots of tiny aventurine 'sparkles' imbedded inside it, which makes an unusual effect. It appears slightly frosted inside, and in bright light provides tiny sparkles!
The drop flicks over at the top to provide a secure loop, it could either be added to your own creation, or worn as it is. I've fitted an 18inch black leather necklace with 925 silver crimps and clasp so it's ready to wear. I also supply the pendant gift boxed.
The pendant is 38mm from top to bottom (about 1 1/2inch) and just over 21mm at the fattest point (around 0.85inch).
The glass is borosilicate, (Pyrex is a well known trade name of this type of glass) and has been fully annealed in a microprocessor controlled kiln. It is supplied gift boxed, and was completely hand formed in a propane/oxygen flame.
All the glass I make is always slightly different, so are always a true one of a kind piece of artisan flamework made entirely by hand by lampwork in my studio in the heart of the English countryside.
