Moroccan Moorish Mosaic Pot
The Design
The shape of the pot inspired the design. It’s a geometric pattern using blues and earthy colours as used in Moorish designs. Some of the dark blue tiles are streaked with copper/bronze metallic and that is echoed with a thin copper strip that is painted on the side edge of the rim of the pot. It has an aged look due to the base pot having an aged finish to it and the tiles are roughly cut and slightly unduating over the surface.
Item Description
A beige earthenware pot measuring 15.5cm tall and approximately 14cm at it’s widest point. The opening at the top of the pot measures 8.5cm across. The base of the pot measures 7cm. The mosaic is made up of vitreous glass tiles. The colours used are two shades of deep blue, two shades of blue veined with copper, orange, beige, caramel, terracotta, and aqua. The mosaic is finished with a cement grey grout. The rim has been painted with copper enamel paint.

Use
This item is fine for interior use, but all the material used in the mosaic are for exterior use so the pot could be converted for use in the summer garden. If using outside a drainage hole may need to be added, and I can't guarantee that the base pot used is frostproof so I would recommend that the pot is kept somewhere frost-free over winter.(Note for accuracy - There is a hairline crack in the pot that runs from the rim to halfway down the pot. The crack was there before I started using the pot as a base and I've since sealed the inside and outside of the pot with waterproof PVA. Also, the outside mosaic adhesive is cement based, so I am totally happy that the crack will not affect the mosaic or weaken the pot in any way. It is not visible at all on the outside of the pot.)
Thank you for your interest.
