I am old enough to remember the days when children used dip pens and fountain pens in school. I had my first fountain pen at the age of 11. Then came the ballpoint pen, and fountain pens fell out of favour. Some years later, tired of disposable ballpoints, I bought an inexpensive, beautiful fountain pen and rediscovered the joy of writing with a well-designed nib and gorgeous inks.
Dismayed at the thought of millions of disposable plastic pens going into landfill, I started collecting vintage fountain pens - both beautiful and a joy to use. As my little collection grew I needed something to store my treasures in, but couldn’t find anything I liked that wasn’t made abroad and incurred prohibitive postage charges. So, I decided to design and make some cases and, through trial and error, I ended up with the current case, which is perfect for my needs: lightweight, protective, attractive, and a fitting home for my pens. I hope you will like it too.
