Office Desk/Dressing table with a Japanese theme

I loved the original wood on the surface, handles and base, but wanted to enhance this using Rust-Oleum Chalk paint in Flint. On the table surface I hand painted Japanese blossoms using Crawford & Black Acrylic paint and carried the blossoms onto the drawers. I then waxed the whole table with Johnstones Finishing Clear Wax and then added ageing detail with Johnstones Finishing Sepia Wax. I then used Crawford & Black Acrylic paint in bronze to add highlights to the edges of the drawers/desk/handles and blossom stem.

I search for unwanted pieces of furniture. I then take time to decide how to bring the best out of each piece. I use a combination of chalk paint, furniture wax, acrylic paint and wallpaper.

My art work is unique and I take great pleasure in breathing new life into each piece.
