About this item
The diameter across the widest part is 88mm and it is 85mm high. This cup is intended to be drunk from but could also be a pencil pot or small vase, or whatever you choose. It was thrown on a potter’s wheel with red earthenware clay then decorated with white clay slip and food-safe glaze. The butterfly decal (transfer) was fired into the glazed surface and will not wash off but hand washing is recommended as after years of dishwasher cycles it will fade. The red clay has high iron content so it will heat up when micro waved.

I moved to the Highlands three years ago and set up my garden studio which looks out over the Moray Firth. I have been making this collection of work since I moved, inspired by the wildlife, landscapes and colours of the forests, beaches and mountains up here. I find working in ceramics very satisfying- I love shaping the messy raw clay and find the magic of the transformations which happen in the kiln endlessly fascinating. I am lucky to have a job where people get pleasure from using what I make and this makes me very happy. I welcome custom orders and suggestions for new product ideas. I double box all orders so they arrive with you just as they left here. I am happy to write a note for birthday orders which are sent directly to the recipient, just let me know the address and message when you place your order.

I bought the Forest mug for my husband as an anniversary gift as he works in Forestry and loves his coffee. Such a beautiful mug, just perfect for hugging your coffee. Thank you
