I was looking for some brightly coloured old cotton material to make a nursery rug for a friends new baby. I wanted something contrasting to stimulate his vision development and came across some bright blue and pink cotton sheets in a local charity shop. Worked with the canary yellow ( the colour of my old school P.E. socks by the way), reminded me of sweets from the 70's.
I ended up with enough material to make two rugs and so here is the second one. The first has pride of place in the nursery (I hope!) although I think it probably clashes with the underwater theme of the room.

Stitched with a toothbrush and made from 'upcycling' old cotton sheets, this vibrant and colourful rug would look ideal in a child's bedroom.
Fully washable and due to the pre-loved materials used, the colours should not run into each other when washed.
