In a small workshop at the foot of Harlech Castle, craftsmen produce beautiful rocking sheep and lambs. These lovely toys are not only hand-crafted but are also made from natural sustainable material, locally sourced. What’s more, their coats are made up of genuine, high quality fleeces from British flocks. Unique, sturdy, washable and very friendly, rocking sheep are tomorrow’s heirlooms in the making. Each rocking sheep or lamb has been carefully crafted and based around a sturdy frame of solid renewable timber. The frames are then finished with a non–toxic, water based lacquer and covered with a genuine, luxury fleece, shaped and stitched by hand. Although sheep fleece is naturally hard wearing and stain resistant, rocking sheep coats can be removed from their frame for washing if required. Each ‘Georgian bow’ rocker has a unique, solid rubber insert on the bottom edge, which helps to prevent sliding and marking and keeps the rocking action quiet on hard floors.
