Full description
This is a real beech leaf, found in Sheffield Botanical Gardens. I have encased it in copper, added patina and polished it to give it the look of an old heirloom. Inside nests a gorgeous Danish amber bead and four glass crystals.
The pendant is 2.5in / 6 cm long and hangs from a19in / 48cm waxed copper chain.
Copper Electroforming is a method of covering non-metallic objects with layers of copper. The natural objects I use have first been prepared with a protective coating of varnish and then painted with a conductive paint. They are then hooked up to the electroforming bath where the magic happens.
