I love using traditional techniques to embellish simple objects. I hope to produce items which are tactile and beautiful. The yarn used to knit this cover was the starting point for the design - the other materials being carefully chosen as its compliment.

Full description
A bouquet of beautiful roses, amidst a cloud of white gypsophila, decorates the front cover of this hand-embroidered notepad.
The cover has been hand-knitted in a simple garter stitch, using a self-patterning sock yarn. Two roses have been embroidered in fabric strips using ribbon embroidery techniques. Buds, leaves and gypsophila flowers have been added by further embroidery in tapestry wools.
The cover is lined with blue felt, hand-stitched in place using blanket stitch. Tow layers of heavy interfacing are inserted for structure.
The 'pages' of the notepad are of a standard A6 size folded in half. They are held in place by a ribbon tied around the spine of the notepad. The notepad may either be used as a source of loose notes or you may jot in it as a notebook, or a mixture of the two. The notepad is supplied with 16 folded A6 sheets - giving 32 pages, 64 'sides', inserted. A further two sets of replacement papers are included with the notepad. These standard size pages may be replenished by simply re-tying the ribbon around a new supply. The 'end-papers' are a pretty blue checked paper. The notepad closes with a ribbon bow.
