Meet the maker Ali Millard

Welcome to milly and pip – I've been sewing and making things since I was a little girl. I studied fashion and textiles at school and went on to do a BTEC Art Foundation course. After this I progressed to study Fashion Design at University and I became a childrenswear designer for some of the biggest brands on the high street, after 16 years I decided to leave and I set up my own business, milly and pip.

My small team and I specialise in unique handmade textile gifts for children, weddings and the home, made from found and recycled materials. From our studio in Derbyshire, we offer a very personal service where every item is lovingly made to order just for you, using raw edge applique and free hand machine embroidery.

Most of our products can be personalised and as many of our fabrics are found in small quantities, no two pieces will ever be the same. We aim to create products so special and unique, that they will be treasured for ever and never be thrown away.

Our aim is to make as little impact on the environment as possible, through recycling and reusing materials and we are passionate about sourcing locally and supporting other small UK businesses.

milly and pip gifts are unique, please treasure them…
