Meet the maker rebecca stephenson

Hi, i'm Becks,

I live in the gorgeous Ribble Valley in a little town called Longridge. I am an avid cyclist and try to get out on my bike as much as I can, although I can never keep up with my husband trying to cycle up the hills- plus having my baby boy arthur in tow is a challeng too! The surrounding countryside aswell as travelling is a constant source of inspiration, I always ensure I have my camera ready to snap anything that might trigger an idea for my designs.

I have been making jewellery for over 10 years after studying Surface Pattern Design specilaising in Textiles at Preston University and have exhibited in a wide range of galleries around the country.
I adore all things vintage and anything that has a quirky element to it. I have a bit of a button obsession and try to incoporate these along with upcycled materials into my work when creating new designs.
I like to experiment with visual imagery I photograph and patterned surfaces I create so they can be manipulated in photoshop. I love how a standard image can be transformed into something totally different and am always excited to see the final outcome.

I currently work as a Art & Textiles teacher at a High School in Lancaster and have done so for the past six years. I am constantly being inspired to create new designs and come up with new ideas to keep my own ideas fresh but also my teaching. I feel very lucky to have a job which i can say I love doing and is inspiring for both my students and myself.

Nothing makes me more happy to see people enjoying wearing my jewellery as much as I do creating it!

Hope you enjoy looking through my shop, if you want any more information just let me know,

Love Beckybooboo xxxx
