Meet the maker Enid Lamb

Formally trained in traditional silversmithing techniques, Enid now works almost exclusively with Fine Silver Clay; a dynamic, modern medium that allows a full range of expression in the creation of unique works of art. Her designs are inspired by a love of nature, a deep interest in the history of textiles and an enthusiasm for ethnic jewellery, most particularly that of Nepal, Tibet and the Himalayan foothills. Nidi’s studio in the national park overlooks a constantly changing North Sea, which provides an additional source of inspiration for her work. Regular beachcombing and forestry dog-walks yield mainly natural but occasionally man-made ‘objets-trouve’, whose forms and textures are employed directly in the creation of one-of-a-kind pieces. Duly formed and kilned the work is further treated with an oxidisation technique, which gives an age patina and enhances the recesses of the textured surface
