Meet the maker Christine Jopling

Hello! Thank you for visiting my shop.

I’m a Yorkshire based illustrator, renowned for wobbly-lined ink and watercolour style, but more increasingly for boldly coloured graphic canvases.

Inspired by Bob Godfrey, Ronald Searle and Quentin Blake, but also by sweetie wrappers, nightclub flyers and 1970s album covers, my work combines an eye for detail and a gentle humour.

Subjects include anything from beloved British birds to beer bottles and farmyard animals to aliens, reflecting a love of the landscape and revealing a bit of an active imagination.

All the paintings you see here are originals, and are executed in acrylic onto deep edge quality canvas, unless otherwise stated. A ‘How to Look after your Painting’ leaflet accompanies each piece, and all paintings are named, numbered and signed by the artist.

I hope you like the originals you see here - if you do like the look of something but would like it ‘customised’, I’m happy to paint something new for you. See my website - - for examples of ‘personalised art’ (pet portraits, 'caricatures' and other stuff). A sketch will always be made available for approval before any work begins, along with a price. Likewise, if you’d like anything with a personal name or message added to it, please feel free to contact me and ask. No job too small or crazy!

Payment is via PayPal, or if you don't have a PayPal account you can still purchase items by using your debit card - simply follow the instructions.

Please note - all images © Christine Jopling - please respect this copyright and do not copy images of my work. Thank you!
